ABOUT THE RACE COURSE

Most racecourse is situated in the area of Velebudice reclamation park, which is regarded as the top project of the so-called Czech reclamation school which is widely acknowledged all around the world. In 1973 a project to develop a reclamation park was drawn up that had reflected on previous contemplations on further use of the Velebudice spoil tip as a relaxation and wellness centre whose landmark would be the race course.

The Velebudice spoil tip ranks as one the biggest spoil tips in the former North – Bohemian lignite mining district and it was formed by using the surface rock of Jan Šverma mine on the area of approximately 790 ha. The main ambition was to restore the lifeless landscape to its public importance. The vast majority of European horse racecourses has been built on natural surface terrain employing a ground levelling process. Therefore, the Most racecourse is considered, not only within the Czech Republic yet in Europe too, a really unique structure of such kind mainly due to the fact that it was built from scratch.

The construction was carried out in a way to meet all the requirements imposed on professional racecourses – it had to be sufficiently solid yet flexible. Owing to the drainage system the entire turf can be well irrigated or easily drained.
Most Hippodrome is the only racecourse in the Czech Republic that has a straight track for flat meetings of 1200 m in distance, the width of the outer bend of the track being 30 m and the length 1800 m. The inner tracks are 20 m wide. There is also a training course, quite extensive in size which is situated outside the main racecourse. Such a training course is a unique concept and one of its kind in the Czech Republic. It provides an opportunity to train both on a sand and turf course

Horse racing

The chief purpose of a.s. HIPODROM MOST is staging horse races. Most circuit commenced to welcome racegoers in September 1997 featuring the very first race. Most hosts 8 racedays a year in which run 600 contenders. These figures prove that Most racecourse has been successful in its endeavour to become the top-shelf racing grounds in the Czech Republic as well as the leading horse racetrack in North Bohemia. A day at the races is an exciting occasion for racegoers of all ages offering a thrilling experience or an opportunity to place a bet for adults along with horse riding or a range of free off-the-track activities for little ones.

Equestrian sport

Apart from the horse races, the premises also stage competitions in equestrian sport. This sport provides an exceptional experience by enabling viewers to get into intimate contact with the horse and the rider. HIPODROM MOST a.s. focuses on hosting races primarily for the category of U19. In 2005 Most grounds saw a competition at a level of difficulty T* 150 cm for the first time in its history, the Czech championship in equestrian and dressage for the U19 category. In 2008 Most hosted the Czech championship in equestrian jumping in the category of children, U19 and seniors.

Most facilities for equestrian sport are of a very high standard. In the past 5 years HIPODROM MOST has built a showground containing a judges’ booth, warm-up arena, a round pen and dressage arena that provides an opportunity to stage other fixtures, such as dressage, Western events,. All these facilities can well serve as learning grounds for leisurely rides. Your level of experience does not matter as our learning courses cater for all levels from beginners to advanced. Moreover, you can join our equine therapy programme.

Inline skating track

In order to enhance our range of activities a new inline skating track was built in 2008. The track is 3370 m long, covered in top quality tarmac. The first 1500 m of the track is two-way and is 5m in width, the remaining 1870m carries on in one direction only and is 3 m wide. The track is situated right next the racing circuit mirroring its oval shape which is rather impressive. Furthermore, its parameters meet the requirements for staging competitions in speed skating. Since its opening, the track has been a great success with inline skaters.

Footgolf

Footgolf is a brand new, top-notch sports game that combines three world-wide popular sports – football, golf and minigolf. It is a technical, competitive and above all addictive game that couples the passion and strength of football with the elegance and tradition of golf. Footgolf is an enjoyable activity for individuals of all ages and proficiency levels – for both men and women, young and older. The primary objective of the game is to kick a football into a sequence of holes on a golf course, with the least number of kicks possible. The player who has made the least kicks to hit the hole at the end of the 18 – hole course is the winner. One game usually takes up 1 – 2 hours and is played in teams of max 4 players. Don’t stay in, come and try a game of footgolf. Like football? You will LOVE footgolf!

Hippodrome Most - the green paradise

Hippodrome attracts about a hundred thousand visitors a year which has proven the initial concept of converting the spoil tip into sports grounds, cultural and social spot to be a remarkable success.

Horse races as well as the whole racing world is not just about sport. It is above all a social occasion in a beautiful environment where people gather to soak up the overwhelming atmosphere of this fast yet graceful sport. Apart from hosting horse races, Most sport grounds offer a wide range of leisure activities. There is also a possibility of the venue hire - from the most intimate of gatherings to the largest of celebrations both for public or company events.

We cater for all demands – sports fans can fancy horse racing or equestrian sport, others can have fun going for a leisurely horse ride. Most ground also boasts hosting social and cultural events.

Hospitality
The Race club offers racegoers and fans an opportunity to come together, whether to establish new contacts or just simply make the most of your visit. The club affords its guests privacy and comfort to fully enjoy a raceday. A membership is needed to gain access to the Race club.

On racedays, the VIP area hosts Most hippodrome partners and guests. It also serves as a venue for different occasions - both corporate or private.

The bar with its excellent facilities offers swift service – your food and drinks are ready within the blink of an eye. The kitchen boasts a multifunctional grill which comes in use especially during the summer months. The entire area is a pleasant place to spend a nice day. It can seat a considerable number of people and can be used as a dance floor too.
