    FOOTGOLF

    Welcome to our footgolf course!

Footgolf is a brand new, top-notch sports game that combines three world-wide popular sports – football, golf and minigolf. It is a technical, competitive and above all addictive game that couples the passion and strength of football with the elegance and tradition of golf. Footgolf is an enjoyable activity for individuals of all ages and proficiency levels – for both men and women, young and old. The primary objective of the game is to kick a football from a teeing zone, get round various obstacles and finally place the ball into a hole on a golf course, with the least number of kicks possible. The player who has made the least kicks to hit the hole and has finished rounds at the 9 – hole course is the winner. One game usually takes up 1 – 2 hours and is played in teams of max 4 players. Don’t stay in, come and try a game of footgolf. Like football? You will LOVE footgolf!

    History

Footgolf has officially existed since 2009 when the International Footgolf Federation was established. Since then, the sport has become increasingly popular thus in 2013, the Federation was authorized to act as a formal governing body. The first world championship was held in 2012 in Hungary. Nowadays, footgolf courses are being made all over the world. The USA and Great Britain have taken part in pursuing this sport too. There were 26 footgolf courses in the US and another 34 were opened in 2014. Great Britain boasts 22 courses. 2014 also marks a milestone in Czech footgolf as the first footgolf course was built as a part of HIPODROM MOST a.s. leisure complex. The course is quite unique as it is located right inside the racecourse.

    Rules in short

The player starts at the teeing zone number "1", carries on to the teeing zone 2 and so on. The play finishes at the teeing zone number "9". The player kicks the ball into the hole with the least number of kicks possible. The player with the least shots at the current hole is awarded the first kick at the next teeing zone. If another player’s ball gets in the way of the current player’s football it can be removed. After the kick has been make the obtruding ball must be put to its original place. A set of special rules can be found at each hole. Players behave to one another with respect and are careful not to hurt anyone when kicking the ball. Our course and the obstructions are designed to suit individuals of all ages and proficiency levels. At some holes players can reach a minus score which is then deducted from the total at the end of the game.

The official footgolf rules have been set up and are controlled by the World Footgolf Association (Wfga), so that players all around the world can play under the same conditions..

    vlajeckaRule 1 - Play

    1-1. General

The game starts with a kick-off from a teeing zone (an area designed to make the kick-off). The player then kicks the ball down the fairway, always starting from the point the ball has landed aiming for the hole on the green.

    1-2. Influencing the ball

In no case can a player influence the position or motion of the ball, only if allowed by the rules.

1-3. Scoring not stated in the rules

When a situation which is not clearly stated in the rulebook occurs, then a marshal is called to make a decision. A penalty is imposed for breaking the rules 1-2. A marshal may disqualify the players.

    vlajecka

Rule 2 - Kicking the ball

2-1. General – winning the game

The aim of the game is to kick the ball into a hole with the least possible kicks– the kicks are called pars. Each hole has its own number of pars. Players may either reach the limit or score under or above. If a hole designed to be played on 4 pars is finished in 6 the player’s scorecard record will state +2. If they finish the hole in two kicks the scorecard will state -2. After all holes have been played the total is made and the player with the lowest score is the winner. In case two players end the game with the same score, the one who has reached less pars in the last round becomes the winner. If these two players have attained the same score in the last round in the total of the last 9 holes, then the last 6 or finally last 3 determines who the winner is.

    2-2. Unfinished hole

If a player does not place their ball into a hole and fails to make the amendment before getting to the next teeing zone they will be disqualified.

2-3. Refusing to obey the rules

Refusal to follow the rules as well as showing disrespect to fellow players result in an immediate disqualification.

    2-5. Penalty

If a player breaks the rules they receive two penalty points, if not stated otherwise or given the actual circumstances.

    vlajecka

     Rule 3 - Equipment

    3-1. Footwear

Players can wear any footwear as long as they do not do damage to the course. Spiked football boots are strictly forbidden.

    3-2. Clothing

Players are allowed to wear any piece of clothing unless stated otherwise before the actual tournament.

    vlajecka

     Rule 4 – The Ball

    4-1. General

You need a round, size 5 football.

    4-2. Ball replacement

The ball is considered unfit to play with if it is ruptured or damaged in any other way. Such a ball must be replaced.

    vlajecka

     Rule 5 - Players

    5-1. Rules knowledge

It is the responsibility of the players to be familiar with the rules.

    5-2. Keeping the time

Players must set off at the scheduled time. The groups are forbidden to “swap” places during the game.

    5-3. Marking the ball

It is the responsibility of each player to play the right ball. They may mark the balls or use different colour each.

    5-4. Score keeping

The score should be recorded after every single hole has been finished. Players write down the score for their opponents, never for themselves. The scorecard must be signed and submitted to the marshal at the end of the game.

Breaking the rules always results in disqualification!

After handing the scorecard over to a marshal no changes can be made to it. Players take full control of their record correctness. Cheating the score always ends in disqualification.

    vlajecka

     Rule 6 - Practice

6-1. Before or during the game practice

When the game is underway players can practise their footgolf skills on the course if allowed by the panel.

    6-2. Playing the hole

A player cannot make a “mock“ kick while trying to hit the hole.

    vlajecka

     Rule 7 - Giving advice

    7-1. Giving advice

During the game players can give advice or ask for advice. Players must not confuse their opponents by providing false information.

    vlajecka

Rule 8 - Order of play

The player with the least shots at the current hole is awarded the first kick at the next teeing zone. The player who has reached the second lowest score starts as second and so on. Contestants with an equal score play in the same order as at the previous teeing zone. After all contestants have made their kick from the teeing zone the player whose ball has landed the furthest from the hole continues as first. If the players do not keep the order, no penalty is received.

    vlajecka

Rule 9 – The Teeing zone

    9-1. Teeing zone

The ball should be placed on the mark and it must always be kicked off the ground. The player’s body can be off the teeing zone while making the kick.

    vlajecka

Rule 10 - Playing the ball

    10-1. General

The ball must be played exactly as it has landed – no alterations to the ball’s position can be made, only under specific circumstances e.g. when the ball has been kicked into a water hazard and so on.

10-2. Alteration to the course position

Players are forbidden to make any alteration to the course in order to gain advantage.

    vlajecka

Rule 11 - How to hit the ball

11-1. How to hit the ball

Contestants can play the ball by their foot only.

    vlajecka

Rule 12 - Playing the wrong ball

    12-1. A wrong ball

If a player uses somebody else’s ball, he receives two penalty points and the kicks made with the wrong ball do not add up to the player’s score. Only the ball holder can then place the ball to where it has originally landed.

    vlajecka

     Rule 13 – The Green

13-1. Lifting and cleaning the ball

In the hole area the ball can be lifted and cleaned. The ball then must be put back to its original position, therefore it is advisable to mark the spot where the ball has landed.

13-2. Ball on the hole boundary

If a part of the ball lies inside the hole boundary, the player can finish their kick instantly. However, the ball must be stationary and cannot be moving at all.

    13-3. Playing simultaneously

The player cannot take their turn playing while another player has not finished theirs.

    vlajecka

Rule 14 – The Flag pole

    14-1. Moving the flag pole

Before making a kick, the flag pole can be pulled out and used to mark the position of the ball. The player must not hold the flag pole or place it anywhere it would create an obstacle to the ball’s smooth movement. If the ball leans against the flag pole but it is not completely inside the hole the flag pole can be removed from the hole. If the ball then falls into the hole, the last kick is counted.

    vlajecka

     Rule 15 - Obstructions

If the player meets a natural obstruction and cannot therefore continue playing, they are allowed to move their ball by max 3 meters away from the obstacle but never closer to the hole.

    vlajecka

Rule 16 - Out of bounds ball

If the player kicks the ball out of bounds, they must place the ball closest to where it has left the course. In such a case, the player receives a penalty point.

    vlajecka

     Rule 17 - Unplayable ball

If a player considers their ball to be unplayable, there are two options to continue the play. They can either move their ball to a different place by maximum 3 meters, never closer to the hole though or they can place their ball to the original spot and play the ball again. In both cases, the player receives one penalty point.
